The Red Light
As we drive down the road of life, red lights are common. They tell us when to stop, they let us know when we can go. Red lights are our friends.
Red lights can also be a parent's enemy. A red light tells us if its going to be a good night of sleep or if we're going to need that extra caffeine jolt in the morning.
The red light tells us if all is peaceful, or if its the "lull" before the storm. The red light tells us how quickly we need to move. Will she go back to sleep? Or will she need a bottle? At 3 a.m., you peer open one eye - hoping the 5 red lights just go back down to 1.
The monitor.
It can be your worst enemy or your best friend - depending on that red light.

You are so right! Cute post. I just decided to stop using the monitor at night (okay Kamryn was already 12 months old when we brought her home) but trust me, when it's that 5 red light scream at my house, I didn't need a monitor, and I thought why awaken for a one or two light moan if she will get herself back to sleep.
